Kerikeri Theatre Company proudly presents “Macbeth”, by William Shakespeare for our 2022 Summer Shakespeare at Kainui Vineyard!

Shakespeare’s darkest tragedy, Macbeth tells the tale of a man tempted by promises of power – he shall one day be King of Scotland! As he claws his way to glory he is consumed by guilt and madness. But he must watch his back, for something wicked this way comes…

This years production of Macbeth is one of Kerikeri Theatre Company’s most ambitious yet! It will be presented at Kainui Vineyard and Brewery, a beautiful open-air venue that has graciously invited us (for the fourth year in a row), to perform our 2022 Summer Shakespeare production.

General Admission tickets sell for just $35 per adult or $25 per student. Or, if you’re making a real night of it, our 4 seater gazebos are available again but are extremely limited – so be sure to secure yours early!

It is believed that William Shakespeare wrote Macbeth in 1606, while the Globe Theatre was closed and society was effectively in lockdown due to the Plague… Sounds familiar doesn’t it?

Join us as we bring this medieval tale to life this February in Kerikeri!

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How do I get my ticket once I’ve ordered?

After ordering you will be sent a ticket via email. Print it up and bring it along or display it via your phone at the door. Each ticket will contain a unique QR code which we will scan at the door.

Do I need a vaccine passport to attend?

Unfortunately, yes. In order for the show to go on, we must require vaccine passports. They will be scanned at the door and will be required to gain entry. Seats will be limited to 100 people per show, to insure that if we are at red the show can still go on.

Do young children get in for free?

Children under 5 years old are free, but they do require a ticket which can be added to your cart from the event page (just like a normal ticket).

What kind of seating do you provide?

Seating is on the lawn at Kainui Road Vineyard. It is recommended that you bring a picnic blanket or similar to make yourself comfortable. Lawn chairs will be allowed in the back rows, so long as they do not obstruct the view of the stage.

What happens if it rains?

If a show is canceled due to rain, we have reserved Sunday the 13th, and Sunday the 20th for rain delay performances. Should this happen ticket holders will be contacted via email and we will post details on our socials. Fortunately, predictions are for clear skies.

Is the show family friendly?

We consider Macbeth to be family friendly. However, it is a tragedy that portrays acts of violence and murder, mature themes and some blood so parents need to decide whether or not they feel the show is right for their children. But please note that while children of all ages are very welcome, parental supervision is required so that we can create an environment that is not distracting for performers or the audience.

Do you offer refunds?

Unfortunately we are not able to offer refunds once a ticket has been reserved, unless the production is canceled or significantly postponed. However, if you are not able to attend, please feel free to contact us and we will try our best to assist you with re-selling the ticket.

What if I can’t make the show but I’ve already bought a ticket? Can I change the date?

Our ticketing system does not allow for the changing of dates so you are unable to change the date once a ticket has been purchased. However, we will create a public resource on our Facebook page to assist people who are looking to sell or trade tickets. Just contact info@kerikeritheatrecompany.com for information.

Can I buy tickets at the door?

Yes, tickets will be available at the door, however you will save $5 on your tickets when you purchase in advance. The door price will be $40 for general admission and $30 for students.

Can I bring my own food or drink into the show?

You are welcome to bring your own food for a picnic, however no outside alcohol or beverages are allowed with the exception of sealed water bottles.

Will I be able to buy food and drinks?

Yes, beer and wine will be available to purchase from the bar before and during the performance. Snacks and non-alcoholic options will also be available.
