KERIKERI THEATRE COMPANY PRESENTS

MACBETH

Summer Shakespeare at Kainui

Directed by Adam Parmenter & Jenni Prisk

Kerikeri Theatre Company proudly presents “Macbeth”, by William Shakespeare for our 2023 Summer Shakespeare at Kainui Vineyard!

Shakespeare’s darkest tragedy, Macbeth tells the tale of a man tempted by promises of power – he shall one day be King of Scotland! As he claws his way to glory he is consumed by guilt and madness. But he must watch his back, for something wicked this way comes…

After a long hiatus following last year’s covid outbreak and subsequent lockdowns, MACBETH IS BACK and it is will be one of Kerikeri Theatre Company’s most ambitious productions yet! It will be presented at Kainui Vineyard and Brewery, a beautiful open-air venue that has graciously invited us (for the fourth year in a row), to perform our 2022 Summer Shakespeare production.

General Admission tickets sell for just $37 per adult or $25 per student (18 and under). Or, if you’re making a real night of it, our 4 seater gazebos are available again but are extremely limited – so be sure to secure yours early!

It is believed that William Shakespeare wrote Macbeth in 1606, while the Globe Theatre was closed and society was effectively in lockdown due to the Plague… Sounds familiar doesn’t it?

Join us as we finally bring this medieval tale to life this February in Kerikeri!

Children under 5 years old are free.

What kind of seating do you provide?

Seating is on the lawn at Kainui Road Vineyard. It is recommended that you bring a picnic blanket or similar to make yourself comfortable. Lawn chairs will be allowed in the back rows, so long as they do not obstruct the view of the stage.

What happens if it rains?

If a show is canceled due to rain, we have reserved Sunday the 12th, and Sunday the 19th for rain delay performances. Should this happen ticket holders will be contacted via email and we will post details on our socials.

Is the show family friendly?

We consider Macbeth to be family friendly. However, it is a tragedy that portrays acts of violence and murder, mature themes and some blood so parents need to decide whether or not they feel the show is right for their children. But please note that while children of all ages are very welcome, parental supervision is required so that we can create an environment that is not distracting for performers or the audience.

Do you offer refunds?

Unfortunately we are not able to offer refunds once a ticket has been reserved, unless the production is canceled or significantly postponed. However, if you are not able to attend, please feel free to contact us and we will try our best to assist you with re-selling the ticket.

What if I can’t make the show but I’ve already bought a ticket? Can I change the date?

Our ticketing system does not allow for the changing of dates so you are unable to change the date once a ticket has been purchased. However, we will create a public resource on our Facebook page to assist people who are looking to sell or trade tickets. Just contact info@kerikeritheatrecompany.com for information.

Can I buy tickets at the door?

Yes, tickets will be available at the door, however you will save $5 on your tickets when you purchase in advance. The door price will be $42 for general admission and $30 for students.
